WELCOME to Christ’s Church Cathedral
Pentecost - a high holy day of spiritual renewal, prayer, and baptism. Join us as we worship together on the Day of Pentecost (with Baptism at the 10:30am Service) Sunday May 24. At our 8:30am Holy Eucharist and 10:30am Choral Eucharist services come along wearing red, orange, and/or yellow to celebrate Pentecost! Understanding Pentecost provides a deeper appreciation for the Christian faith. This day celebrates empowerment, unity, and a divine connection that transcends language and culture. The biblical account describes a sudden rush of wind, tongues of fire, and the ability to speak in new languages. These events forever changed the followers of Jesus, giving them the courage to share their message with the world. ‘Sharing God's loving transformation of our lives with our neighbourhood, the diocese and the world through inspiring worship and music, spiritual formation and leadership development, compassionate service and advocacy alongside our neighbours, and a warm and inclusive hospitality.’ We are a sacred oasis in the heart of the city.

Generosity Morsel
What are your gifts? What do you have in abundance? And how can you give that into the world (maybe even into our church) willingly, and with joy? Each of us have situations that really matter to us, that tug at our hearts. When we offer our gifts into these situations, we live from abundance thinking. And our giving helps us to spreads our love and inspires others to do the same. Keep your eyes and ears open in Christ’s Church Cathedral. People in this congregation are giving their gifts freely every day, usually so quietly, and in ways that create even more abundance, inspiration and relationship. We encourage you to notice, and maybe start a list of ways you can see this happening. Thank you, thank you, for all that you give to this community. |

Gift of Financial SecuritiesAnother Way to Give Thinking about making a donation to Christ’s Church Cathedral? Do you own publicly traded securities in a non-registered investment account? If you replied yes to those two questions, donating publicly traded securities directly to a registered charity is a smart and tax-effective alternative to donating cash. The potential tax benefits will vary based on your situation. Before making a decision, we strongly recommend consulting your Financial Advisor or Accountant. An overview of how this work is available here.

May's Action: Go Native!Climate Justice Cathedral If you have a garden or just a plant or two outside or on a balcony, plant native species! They need less fertilizer, less pesticides, they are less susceptible to diseases, they are low maintenance, and they look great! Plants also clean up our air. And native species are not invasive. By choosing native species, you are giving the local ecosystem (and us!) a better chance at a sustainable existence. The internet has lots of information about native plants and invasive species, and you can also talk to our own Bishopsgate gardeners. You may also wish to refer to Your Guide to Ontario Native Plants . Every step in the right direction counts!Adapted from Bob Vila Website. |
