Being With is a new small group for people looking for a place to come together, share their stories, and ask their questions about what really matters.  It is for anyone wondering if the Christian faith might have something meaningful to offer.

We have added an exciting element for folks that visit: a walking labyrinth!

We have a seven-circuit Chartres-style canvas labyrinth for all summer use at Cathedral Oasis. It is 24 feet across! Come and explore.

The labyrinth offers an accessible meditative experience through an interactive representation of the twists and turns of life, with God always at the centre, drawing us closer and closer.
Please pray for all who visit us during these summer months!

Our doors are open one Sunday per month for anyone to drop in for peace and reflection in the middle of our busy city.  Feel free to light a candle, say a prayer, or just sit quietly in this beautiful space. Maybe you have never been in the Cathedral and just want to have a look around?  Maybe you would just like to listen to some quiet, peaceful music?  Whoever you are, whatever brings you to our doors, you are very welcome. If you have any questions during your visit, there is someone on hand from our Cathedral Community.

For level access please go to the reception door to the left of the main Cathedral entrances.

Come to this weekly drop-in gathering to explore the stories and wisdom the Scriptures contain.  Join us if you know a lot or just a little.  All are welcome!

Study the Bible in community through this drop-in participant-focused method of reading scripture together.  Discovery Bible Study is designed to meet the spiritual needs of our participants by considering what the biblical text tells us about God and human beings. 

You'll find us in the nave on Thursdays at 11:30am.  All are welcome!

As a member of the Community of the Cross of Nails, we gather weekly at noon on Fridays to pray for peace, justice, and reconciliation.   We start our prayer with:

We stand together at this Friday noon hour to join with all those churches, schools, and other institutions who have committed themselves to the Community of the Cross of Nails. We search for reconciliation between ourselves and all those who have been harmed by war, by violence, by the effects of colonization and abuses of power, and by greed, selfishness, thoughtlessness and indifference.

Normally at Supercrawl the central, west doors are open to welcome the public, but access that way will not be possible this year. 
To attract visitors this year, we want to use “cathedral criers” once per hour (or so).  For this to occur we need a handbell of the type teachers used to use before electronic buzzers.  We also need people who believe that they have the voice and demeanour to take on the role of “Cathedral Crier” for about three hours – a script will be
provided.
If you can provide a handbell or are willing to become a crier for a day, contact Sandy Darling or the Cathedral administrator.

This year's Wild Ride is raising funds for a new project to install solar suitcases in Mozambique and Madagascar. Each solar suitcase costs $6,500 and the Wild Ride hopes to raise $52,000, enough to install solar suitcases in eight clinics.

It's easy to feel discouraged about the climate crisis, but the City of Hamilton is taking strong action to create a greener, fairer, and more efficient future.  Over the next few weeks, we'll outline their plans.

Week 1:   Hamilton's Achievements in 2024

• 55,482 trees planted - 11% above the annual goal.
• 13.6 km of new bike lanes added, now totalling 590 km of the planned 970 km network.
• Transit ridership up 14.5% from 2023, surpassing pre-pandemic levels; diesel buses to be phased out by 2026.
• Heat Relief:  2,000 bus tickets to cooling centres, 830 "cool kits", and140 air conditioner subsidies.
• Study shows waste heat from localindustries could power 140 MWh annually via a planned "Thermal Corrider".
• New Horizon Development cut emissions by 60% at a rental project using geothermal and efficient ventilation.

September 21st is the International Day of Prayer for Peace, which many people of faith around the world will be observing.  The need for prayer in such tumultuous times cannot be understated, and many are looking for a place to walk, pray, and witness together for healing, unity, and justice in our communities and beyond. 

Would you consider gathering a few friends and joining us for a Silent Prayer Walk at 4pm at Gage Park on Sept 21st?

I have attached a Flyer to help spread the word, but here are the highlights:

• Meet at 4:00pm in front of the Gage Family Fountain.
• We will begin with a short reflection and prayer, then walk/pray for 20 min in silence.
• We will close in a short reflection and prayer.
• Light refreshments will be served afterwards.
• All ages are welcome!
