Your Corporation wish to share with you that at the request of St. Matt’s and City of Hamilton, due to extraordinary need and circumstances arising this week, the Cathedral Café will begin to operate overnight, 6 days per week, for two months as of Sunday. This measure comes in light of this year’s severe winter weather, and with the goal is to prevent injuries due to frostbite and deaths due to exposure. Guests would be men who are unhoused, with their only alternative being the street. The Café is the best immediately available option in the city to meet this dire need to provide this care for our neighbours. As of February 1, overnight operating hours will be Sunday from 8pm-8am Monday; and Monday to Friday, 6pm-8am. The overnight program will close weekly from 4pm on Saturdays to 8pm on Sundays for Sunday services. |

2026 Our 150th Anniversary!
On Sunday February 8, at the 10:30am Eucharist Service Christ's Church Cathedral will celebrate with thanksgiving the 150th anniversary of our consecration as the Cathedral of the Anglican Church of Canada in the Diocese of Niagara. In practice the Cathedral may have obtained status earlier, but in law, we became a cathedral when the diocese was formally incorporated, on We are all invited to celebrate this year as the Cathedral community along with distinguished guests from the city of Hamilton. We kindly ask that you can arrive and have found a seat by 10am, to greet our special guests shortly after. The Litany of ReconciliationPlease join us in the Cathedral. Fridays 12:15 -12:30 pm As a member of the Community of the Cross of Nails, we gather weekly at noon on Fridays to pray for peace, justice, and reconciliation. We start our prayer with: We stand together at this Friday noon hour to join with all those churches, schools, and other institutions who have committed themselves to the Community of the Cross of Nails. We search for reconciliation between ourselves and all those who have been harmed by war, by violence, by the effects of colonization and abuses of power, and by greed, selfishness, thoughtlessness and indifference. Please click on Litany of Reconciliation for the prayer in its entirety. A brief history of the Litany of Reconciliation can be found on The Anglican Diocese of Ontario website.

A Question to Consider!Simple Monthly Actions from Climate Justice Cathedral February's ActionJames Gustave Speth (born March 4, 1942) is an American environmental lawyer and advocate. He says: "I used to think the top global environmental problems were biodiversity loss, ecosystem collapse, and climate change. I thought that with 30 years of good science, we could address these problems. But I was wrong. The top environmental problems are selfishness, greed, and apathy, and to deal with these we need a spiritual and cultural transformation, and we scientists don't know how to do that."
